So I was in class the other day and sitting next to me was the ever talented Laura Terry sketching away in her notebook. Among the things that she was drawing were some pretty wicket looking skulls; she is not usually morbid but we were listening to a lecture buy Charles Burns which I think had some influence.
Anyway later on at home I was drawing in my sketch book and was reminded of Laura’s skulls and thought I would draw one myself. The image on the left is what came out which is not to say that I am a failure at drawing skulls but merely and illustration of how my mind works. (yes pun intended)
I start off trying to accomplish one thing and end up with another. A skull becomes this weird combination of a winter hat and jellyfish. A strange realization that failure in one thing can be something awesome in another light.
All of this is to say look at my drawing. Isn’t is awesome, now shower me with praise.
